During the weekend, we went to the heftiest motor show in Norway – the Oslo Motor Show at Norges Varemesse in Lillestrøm. Impressive location, five halls, each with variety of vehicles.
First one we approached was devoted only to stance cars in which BMW was clearly dominating. Extraordinary amount of impaired pieces of art. In the neighbouring hall, we have met the E30 Meet with collaboration with BMW Classic. We’ve spoken to the icon of Motor Racing, Prince of Bavaria, Leopold Rupprecht, who showed us photos of a cars he drove and owns. Not only it’s a very huge collection, but also the variety of brands which is purely amazing.
A lot of stories have been told around when we walked across the halls looking at those thrilling bavarian masterpieces. The famous two seater roadster with V8 – BMW 507, BMW Turbo Concept from 1972, Isetta 300, M10 228hp powered E10, stunning Hennarot E30 M3 and many, many, many others. The comments around the luxury Neue Klasse 2000CS and it’s successor E9 stated that nobody can beat BMW with building coupé cars. I’ve also been acknowledged with the name of the low forward bend of exterior line around window in the back: The Hofmeister Kink. It has it’s name after back-then BMW director of design, Wilhelm Hofmeister.
It was my firs time at Oslo Motor Show. This show was surprisingly way much greater than I thought. I meet astonishing personalities around with their classic, nostalgic cars, whom it would be impossible to be known on the regular basis. Thanks to all i have met and Diagonalt for giving me an impulse and the opportunity to do it.
